For Plumbers & Electricians

An AI answering service for plumbers and electricians.

Your best calls come at the worst times: a burst pipe at 10 p.m., a dead panel on a Sunday, an estimate request while you're in a crawl space. We help you set up AI answering so those calls get picked up, sorted into urgent and routine, and passed to you, instead of going to voicemail and the next name on the list.

Tools of the trade for plumbers and electricians

Why do plumbers and electricians lose calls?

Emergency work is the most valuable and the least predictable. The caller with water on the floor or no power is already ringing several companies, and the first one to answer usually gets the job. But you can't pick up while you're under a house, in an attic or inside a panel, and you aren't at your desk at 9 p.m.

Routine calls get lost too: the quote request, the water heater swap, the EV charger install. If nobody answers, the homeowner keeps scrolling.

What does an AI answering service do for a plumbing or electrical business?

It picks up when you can't, introduces itself as an AI, and asks the questions you would ask: who is calling, where, what is happening, and how urgent it is. It then sends you a clear summary by text, books routine estimates on your calendar, and flags emergencies so they reach you at once.

We don't build it. We help you find the right third-party provider for your business, then set it up and connect it to your phone, calendar and booking. The provider runs the service and bills you directly; we work with them on your behalf.

Setup for plumbers and electricians

Choosing the right provider, a call flow built around your trade, urgent versus routine routing, text-back for missed calls, estimate booking and a hand-off to your phone.

Revenue gainedFewer emergency and estimate calls lost to voicemail
Time savedClear call summaries instead of voicemails to decode
Risk reducedUrgent jobs flagged so they are not missed overnight

For plumbers

The call flow is built around the jobs you take: leaks and burst pipes, clogged drains, no hot water, water heater replacements and repipes. The receptionist can ask where the water is coming from, whether the main has been shut off, and the address and best number to reach the caller.

For electricians

The flow covers outages and tripped breakers, panel and service work, lighting and outlets, and EV charger or remodel estimates. It can ask what is affected, whether the problem is in one room or the whole house, and the address and best number to reach the caller.

Safety first. Setup includes a script that tells anyone in danger, such as a fire, a gas smell or sparking wiring, to hang up and call 911 before anything else. The AI does not give repair or safety instructions beyond that.

What this can look like

A plumber at 10 p.m. A customer calls about water coming from under the kitchen sink. The AI answers, asks whether the water is shut off, and collects the address. It sees the call is urgent and sends it to your phone right away. You call back within minutes, instead of finding a voicemail in the morning.

An electrician mid-job. You're inside a panel when a homeowner calls about installing an EV charger. The AI takes the details, offers estimate times from your calendar and books one. The summary is on your phone when you finish.

Where do you work?

We are based in Silicon Valley and meet in person in San Francisco, San Mateo, Alameda and Santa Clara counties. For the rest of the Bay Area and anywhere else, we work remotely, and the setup does not require us to be in the room. See how we work across the Bay Area, or see our overview for local trades. Other trades, such as HVAC, roofing or landscaping, can start with missed-call text-back for contractors.

Questions we hear

What plumbers and electricians usually ask first

Can it tell an emergency from a routine call?

Yes. Urgent calls, like a burst pipe, no power or water coming through a ceiling, can be flagged and routed so they reach you right away, while routine requests, like an estimate or a fixture swap, are handled automatically. You decide what counts as urgent.

What if someone calls about a fire, a gas smell or sparking wiring?

Setup includes a script that tells callers in danger to hang up and call 911 first, then collects their details for you afterward. The AI never gives repair or safety instructions beyond that.

Will it quote prices?

It can share what you tell it, such as your service area, hours and call-out policy. It does not make up prices, and quotes stay with you.

Will callers know they're talking to an AI?

Yes. The receptionist introduces itself as an AI, callers can ask for a person at any time, and anything it shouldn't handle is passed to you.

Do you build the AI answering service?

No. We help you find the right third-party provider for your business, then set it up and connect it to your phone, calendar and booking. The provider runs the service and bills you directly. We work with them on your behalf.

What does it cost?

Setup starts at $500. The provider's own subscription is separate, roughly $30 to $300 a month depending on call volume and features, and is billed to you directly. Your real price is a fixed quote after we talk through your setup. See all starting prices.
